What a slow year for music.

I could only find 6 records that came out this year that were really that good.

Brand new- Daisy
Animal Collective- Meriweather Post Pavilion
New found glory- not without a fight
Matt and kim- Grand
Dear Landlord- Dream homes
The pains of being pure at heart- s/t

there are two records i sort of checked out, but not enough to know how I feel about them
Lucero- 1372 overton park
Tegan and sara- Sainthood.

maybe they will grow on me.

That New Found Glory one was really good! Also, didn't you like Banner Pilot and American Steel?

wasnt that impressed with either honestly. Not to say their newer records, but the bands in general. I may give banner pilot a second listen but American steel was just middle of the road for me.

It really was a lousy year. I went to do a Year In Review on my radio show and ended up doing about half the show as a tribute to people who dies. (Beefheart, Malcolm McLaren, Jay Reatard, Alex Chilton, Ari Up...)

If I have to pick a few:

The Brutalist Bricks, Ted Leo and the Pharmacists

Grinderman 2

Majesty Shredding, Superchunk

Everything Inbetween, No Age

Public Strain, Women

Phosphene Dreams, Black Angels
